The thumbwheel counters and the 7 segment displays work in a Binary Coded Decimal system (BCD) and are encoded on one byte corresponding at the two decades displayed.
If one assigns a non-significant value to a 7 segment display, ‘’non recognized
value’’ will be displayed.
