The Bachelor in law trains qualified agents for legal professions and jobs where experience in law principles and public administration is important.
Students with a Bachelor's degree in law can find a job in a large range of business sectors where, either thanks to a training within a company (insurance companies, for instance) or an administration or with an external and additional training, they can quickly specialise in the assigned tasks.
Furthermore, they have the opportunity to bring their knowledge up to date according to their employers' requirements. A language training (in Dutch or English) enables them to progress within national and international companies.
The bachelor in law's study programme is based on the following aspects:
The numerous facets of law taken up throughout the three years of studies directly place the student in real-life situations thanks to practical approaches at the service of theoretical concepts.
A large disciplinary crossing between courses, supported by teachers working as a team helps the student to delineate legal aspects on their whole and more specifically.
The main principles of modern economy, both at national and international levels, are discussed through in-depth and varied courses.
Office automation and computer science are covered in today's perspective which is constantly redefined according to the needs identified during work placements.
French classes aim to acquire, besides a mastered spelling and style adapted to the profession, a critical mind, an ability to summerise and an aptitude to exchange point of views. The legal terminology is covered as much in the French language as in the chosen foreign language. The foreign language, which is English or Dutch, is subjected to a dynamic learning thanks to a language lab, the study of legal texts and conversation tables in class.
Professional internships are organised throughout the training, with an internship of more than three month in final year. They enable students to put into practice the knowledge and skills they acquire during their studies and to become accustomed to professional life.
