Teknika : le bachelier en techniques graphiques de la HEH
The Bachelor studies in Graphic Techniques at the Department of Sciences and Technologies in Haute École en Hainaut last 3 years and are destined to train professionals of computer-aided graphic design.
Our infographic curriculum, also called “Teknika”, trains in the use of computer softwares specialized in technique and graphic creation in printing (posters, booklets, packaging,…), 3D (parametric, direct and organic) web (design and development) and animation fields.
Computer graphics is a field aimed at technique profiles: people attracted to digital tools and new technologies, aware of details, gifted with a good spatial vision, with a taste for aesthetics and a touch of creativity.
The bachelor’s degree in Graphic Techniques mainly covers the following areas of infographics:
Graphics, with the learning of Adobe Suite's graphics softwares such as Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. The programme includes the discovery of different drawing techniques: observation drawing, styling, Matte painting, volume setting and packaging. Finally, we study the Adobe After Effects software with motion design and animation in 2.5D.
3D with the learning of CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Microstation with a particular focus on the technical constraints of representations. Add to this the Autodesk Maya, and Cinema 4D software from Maxon. Maya is Design oriented, as for Cinema 4D, part of the courses addresses the Motion Design 3D, and the other the architectural renderings realistic interior under Vray.
The Web, from design to front-end and back-end development. The spectrum of technologies covered includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery library, PHP, MySQL databases, XML, CMS, etc. But also Web design methods, ergonomics and SEO. This leads the student to discover all aspects of creating dynamic websites, while focusing on the client interface.
These 3 axes are reinforced by courses in computer science, fundamental sciences, English, communication and copyright.
The teaching methods are intended to be practical and tend quickly and gradually towards a project-based pedagogy in order to prepare our future graduates to the professional environment that awaits them.
Finally, to conclude the training, the third year includes a project week called "Atypical Week", the creation of a TFE (graduation work) and a 13-week internship in a company.
In recent years, new technological challenges have imposed themselves on society.
Some expanding sectors will face a shortage of specialized agents, technicians in the short term. The labour market is changing rapidly and will introduce new requirements for qualifications in the future.
With this in mind, the Bachelor in GRAPHIC TECHNIQUES will offer the labour market a series of new professions as will be addressed the fields of technology where computer aided design (CAD) and drawing are the main bodies responsible for the creation and development of businesses.
The opportunities
This growing sector leads to various fields: digital agencies, advertising agencies, web or multimedia agencies, cinema, television, press, publishing, design or architectural offices, public sector, etc.
The professions are numerous and offer real prospects of development: infographist, matte painter, layout designer, industrial designer, 3D specialist, motion designer, web developer, web designer, front-end developer, illustrator, etc.
The gateways
The Bachelor in Graphic Techniques - Technical Infographics course entitles to the following gateways:
Master in Information and Communication Science and Technology
